Yasuhara Kimei was one of Japan's most avant-garde ceramic artists of the 20th century. His work is in the Tokyo National Museum of Art, Tokyo Art Museum, and many works in the Sogetsu Museum of Art. Yasuhara was based in Tokyo and he was a major contributor to Nitten throughout the years. His retrospective exhibition in 1993 was a major show and highlighted his extraordinary career.
